Rift White Oak Cabinets: Why This Wood Is Worth It

What Is Rift White Oak?
White oak is cut in different ways — plain-sawn, quarter-sawn, and rift-sawn. Rift sawing cuts the log at roughly 45 degrees to the growth rings, producing a tight, straight grain with minimal ray fleck. The result is clean, consistent, and modern-looking — exactly why designers and homeowners love it right now.
Why It Works in Northern Colorado Homes
Colorado homes see real humidity swings between dry winters and wetter summers. Rift white oak is dimensionally stable, meaning it moves less with those changes than other cuts or species. That translates to cabinets that stay tight, square, and beautiful for decades.
How We Finish It
We apply hardwax oils and conversion varnishes that protect the wood while letting its natural character show. You can go natural, light wire-brushed, cerused, or add a warm stain. We'll show you finished samples so you know exactly what you're getting.
